The Memorial Zone Donja Gradina was visited by 600 students from Kosovo and Metohija

The Memorial Zone Donja Gradina at Kozarska Dubica was visited by 600 students from fifty primary schools from the area of Kosovo and Metohija and 300 students from primary schools from the Republic of Srpska. The visit of the students, who came to Donja Gradina by 19 buses, was organised by the Committee for the help to the Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija from Banja Luka, as a part of the project called “Let’s join the children from Kosovo and Metohija with the children from the Republic of Srpska”, which has been realised since 2012.

“As a part of this seventh and so far the largest project in a row, we wanted the children from Kosovo and Metohija to visit the Memorial Zone Donja Gradina, together with their hosts, the students from the Republic of Srpska, and to get to know difficult history of the Serbian people and the sufferings at Donja Gradina – the biggest execution site of the Jasenovac concentration camp”, said the president of the Committee for the help to Kosovo and Metohija Mr Milorad Arlov.
He added that all the students showed particular interest in the facts about the sufferings at that concentration camp and that they listened to the historical lesson which was held at the Memorial Zone Donja Gradina with great interest.

The Director of the Memorial Zone Donja Gradina Ms Tanja Tuleković confirmed that the curators of the Institution held a historical lesson and organised the conducted tour of the Memorial Zone complex, and she emphasised that the visit was very significant because the students will be able to perceive easier the Serbian national history.

Besides the children from Kosovo and Metohija there were primary school students from Derventa, Novi Grad, Čelinac, Prnjavor, Doboj, Gradiška, Banjaluka, Prijedor, Modriča and Teslić at Donja Gradina today.
